Perine and Pascal notice great tempo and intensity in first practice
July 28, 2017
Upon the conclusion of the team’s 3 p.m. practice, rookies Samaje Perine and Zach Pascal both told The Hog Sty that they noted tempo and intensity when describing the play on the field for day 1 of training camp. That tempo the players mentioned was evident to observers. Head coach Jay Gruden established a good tempo early in practice when the offense was just practicing plays by themselves. The offense didn’t win the day yesterday in my opinion, specifically when matched up in full team scrimmages; perhaps the intensity caught them off-guard. However, heading into the second day it’s important to see how they respond. Collectively, can the offense be crisper when matched up against the defense?
