It’s Game Time: vs Jets , Preseason Game 2

Week two of pre-season is here.  Hopefully, tonight will be the first chance we get to see Alex Smith in Burgundy and Gold.  And I for one am very excited to see if he’s as good in live action as he has been in training camp.

As we have all heard, the Redskins have been very chippy with the New York Jets who came into Richmond ready to fight like their namesakes showed them.  With a few scuffles in the first practices together.  I couldn’t find a good gif of the fight to embed but this was a close approximation of what the Jets did:

As always, I will try and post some of your better comments into the head of this post as the game goes along, or at least until I pass out.

We gonna miss Guice bigly. And Perine too if he out long… He was just getting going. Night and day from last year on limited play imo. Talent/depth thinning quick.
Concerning. Even w Bibbs Kelley CT Marshall. Man 1 more RB injury….

1st half in a nutshell…

– Alex looks comfortable and relaxed. Throws a nice, catchable ball. Except for that last one.
– Nice to have Colt as a backup. Not worried if he’s pressed into service.
– O-Line can’t open up running lanes
– Payne & Allen are a force. Back it up with raekwon Davis next year for the Bama trifecta
– Settle is a stud
– Tough run by Perine. Get better.
– Cam Sims fighting for a spot on the roster. But he is flashing potential.
– Rob Kelley excels at running backwards through the hole.

3. Smith is “cool hand luke”
4. Aggresiveness of young defenders
5. Colt McCoy
6. Cam Sims

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
1. Red Zone offense.
2. If pass rush doesn’t get home, we’re suspect
3. That there’s a rookie with Joe Jacoby’s number.
