The story of the life and death of one of the most gifted players in Washington Redskins history, the late Sean Taylor, is finally coming to film.
Redskins fans still mourn the shocking murder of the legendary safety during a burglary of his home in Miami in November, 2007. At the time, Redskins fans set up an impromptu vigil outside of Redskins Park that lasted for several days, and team owner Daniel Snyder flew the entire organization to Miami for his memorial service and set up a trust fund for his daughter shortly afterwards. Since that time, Taylor himself has continued to live on in the hearts and minds of both Redskins and Miami Hurricane fans around the world.
Now, thanks to a film producer, Neardey Trinh, and Sean’s teammates, former wide receiver Santana Moss and former corner Fred Smoot, his story will be shown to the world on film. Author Steve Rosenberg, who wrote Taylor’s biography, Going Full Speed: The Sean Taylor Stories, is a co-writer and associate producer on the project. Rosenberg spent a full hour as a guest on The Hog Sty to discuss his book back in November, 2016. You can listen to his interview by clicking here.
The production is in the early stages at this point, so the public won’t be able to see the film for awhile, but in the meantime, the production company has set up a crowdfunding effort to finance certain limited portions of the early stages of production. The movie is expected to be released through a major platform upon completion. Fans interested in contributing to the film can click here for more information. The Hog Sty will provide updates as they become available.
