Jason Wright appointed as new team president

Washington announced this morning that the team has appointed Jason Wright as its new team president. Wright is a former NFL running back who spent 7 seasons with the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals from 2004 – 2010. He is a graduate of Northwestern University in Illinois and earned an MBA from the University of Chicago after his football career ended. He worked at McKinsey & Company in Washington D.C. before coming to the team.
According to the team, Wright will report to owner Dan Snyder and oversee the team’s business operations, including finance, sales, and marketing. New head coach Ron Rivera will maintain control over football operations and also continue report directly to Snyder.
Wright was interviewed by former NFL great Michael Strahan on ABC’s Good Morning America regarding his new role:

Wright replaces former team president Bruce Allen, who was fired last season amidst a storm of controversy after 10 years with the team. We will have more on this move as details become available.
