The Season in a Snap – Week 2

Week 2 saw the euphoric bubble burst for the Washington Football Team (WFT). After the impressive, come from behind victory over the Eagles, the Team came out flat on the road and dug a 20-0 hole they could not overcome. While the Team took a loss, I correctly predicted the outcome. They are now tied for first, after the Atlanta Falcons folded up the tent against the Dallas Cowboys, allowing them to overcome a huge deficit. Both teams are 1-1 for the season.
The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles both lost and start the season 0-2, which gave them about a 12% chance of making the playoffs given the history of 0-2 teams over the last 30 years.
This week the Browns are a 7.5-point favorite at home over the WFT. The over/under is 45 points. I’m going against the grain this week and taking WFT for the win.
Cynthia Frelund, the statistical analyst at the NFL Network, gives the Browns a 66% chance of winning with a predicted score of 26-17.
