2020 NFL Trade Deadline Summary

Since there is no Hold On column this week, l decided to take a look at the trades that occurred throughout the NFL.

The NFL trade deadline passed at 4 P.M. ET yesterday without the Washington Football Team making any movement on the trade front. Ryan Anderson and Ryan Kerrigan, who had trade rumors associated with them, remain with the team. Neither are likely to be with Washington next year.

There were seven significant trades made around the NFL before the deadline:

There were no earthshattering, blockbuster type trades this year. The biggest trade was Ngakoue to the Ravens. He may end up being a half-season rental for Baltimore, but the Ravens will have options this offseason with him. They can tag him, tag and trade him, re-sign him to a long term deal or let him sign with another team and get a compensatory pick. So, this was a very good deal for the Ravens, as they get pass rusher help for their playoff push.

For those faithful who were hoping to get 3^rd round or 4^th round picks for some of Washington’s players, you can see for the most part the market for “used” players were lower round picks, 5^th to 7^th rounders.

The other two teams that helped themselves out for their playoff pushes were the Seahawks and Saints. Both needed help on the defensive side of the ball and they got players to help fill positions of need on their teams.
