Welcome to the latest edition of The Hog Sty’s mock draft tracker column.
The release of veteran players has begun as teams try to free up cap space as the new league year approaches on March 17th. Two of the bigger names released so far are linebacker JJ Watt from the Texans and cornerback AJ Bouye from the Broncos.
The Mocks
This week the number of mock drafts published went from 95 to 117. There were many changes based on teams perceived needs and possible projected trades. The position distribution for Washington is now:

The selection of QB as they pick at 19 for the Washington Football Team was up 4% this week to 32.5%. Offensive tackle was down 3%, wide receiver was down 4%, interior offensive line was up 1% and linebacker was up about 2.5%.

Four of the top five top picks maintained the percentage picked value, except for Mac Jones who rose almost 5% this week.
Breaking down the percentage picked within the position group for the top four positions:
- Quarterback – Mac Jones (62% of QB picks), Trey Lance (27%), Kyle Trask (8%)
- Offensive tackle – Christian Darrisaw (52% of OT picks), Samuel Cosmi (32%), everyone else (4%)
- Wide receiver – Rashod Bateman (30% of WR picks), Jaylen Waddle (25%), Kadarius Toney (20%), Rondale Moore (10%), Terrace Marshall Jr. (10%),
- Linebacker – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (71%), Zaven Collins (14%), everyone else (7%)
The most interesting new projection this week was WFT trading the number 19 pick to Miami for Tua Tagovailoa. Several mock drafts also have WFT trading up higher in the draft to take Mac Jones or Trey Lane. The teams involved in those trades include the Lions at #7 and the Vikings at #14.
