First Quarter
Washington won the toss and deferred, so Packers started on offense. To set the tone, Aaron Rodgers completed a pass to Davante Adams for 15 yards on the first play. Washington’s inability to stop any team on third or fourth down showed through again. Aaron Jones drove for a first down on a swing pass on third and four. Rodgers scrambled for 15 yards on a third and eleven after a Montez Sweat sack on second down. Plus, on fourth and three, Rodgers hit Adams over the middle and Adams ran it in from 17 yards out. The drive covered 75 yards in fifteen plays. Mason Crosby converted the extra point.
On Washington’s first drive, Taylor Heinicke picked up 8 yards on a run-pass option play on third down. Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic rushed for 14 yards. Heinicke then hit Terry McLaurin for a 12 yard completion to take the ball to the Green Bay 40 yard line. The Packers blitzed on the next play when Heinicke dropped backed to pass. Gibson picked up the blitzer and Heinicke threw a 40 yard bomb to McLaurin who out jumped two defenders to catch the pass in the endzone for a touchdown.
On Green Bay’s next series, the Washington defense faced another third down and eight situation. However, this time Jonathan Allen sacked Rodgers for a 13 yard loss, forcing the Packers to punt.
On third and eight, Rasul Douglas was called for a dubious defensive pass interference call on McLaurin to give Washington 19 yards and a first down. Dyami Brown was injured on the play. Washington was able to keep the drive going down to the Green Bay 24 yard line, but Heinicke overthrew a wide-open McLaurin on third down forcing a Chris Blewitt 42 yard field goal. Blewitt’s kick was blocked by T.J. Slaton.

Second Quarter
Rodgers was able to drive the Packers down the field, completing passes to Robert Tonyan for 12 yards, Jones for 10 yards, and 15 yards to Randall Cobb. Equanimeous St. Brown picked up 13 yards on a jet sweep. The drive failed after a second Jonathan Allen sack and a holding penalty. Tim Settle blocked a Crosby 34 yard field goal attempt.
On Washington’s next drive, Heinicke picked up 38 yards on a scramble up the middle on the first play after the block. However, Washington only picked up 7 more yards and on 4th and 3, Eric Stokes broke up a pass intended for McLaurin.
After the turnover on downs, Allen Lazard went on a tear, catching passes of 11, 7, 13 and 19 yards. With 17 seconds left, Cobb appeared to catch the ball for a first down on the Washington 2 yard line, but after review it was ruled incomplete because he did not maintain possession when he went to the ground. That made it third down, so Rodgers threw it back shoulder to Lazard for a 10 yard touchdown over Danny Johnson.

Third Quarter
Washington started on offense after the second half kickoff. After Gibson nearly broke a long run on first down, Heincke was hit as he went to throw on second down with Rashan Gary catching the fumble in the air. Two plays later, Rodgers hit Tonyan over Jamin Davis for a 20 yard touchdown.
On Washington’s next series, Heinicke hit Ricky Seals-Jones for 14 yards. After a setback with a holding penalty on a Gibson run, Heinicke hit 17 yard pass to Adam Humphries and 28 yard pass to McLaurin. Gibson then rushed for 5 yards and Seals-Jones had a 9 yard reception to make it first and goal at the Green Bay 6 yard line. Then things got crazy, Heinicke scored an apparent touchdown, but was reversed on a review that showed his knee touched at the one as he dived for the goal line, even though no Packer player touched him. The ruling was the run was treated as if he slid down. The team failed to score on fourth down.
The defense was able to hold the Packers to a three and out and nearly blocked the punt. Washington then went deep into the playbook for a couple of trick plays. The first play was an end around run by DeAndre Carter witch worked to perfection and resulted in a 30 yard gain. The second play didn’t work to the same degree, but Heinicke still picked up 12 yards on a scramble. Antonio Gibson then rushed for 5 yards but fumbled the ball. The call on the field was that Darnell Savage recovered but it was overturned on review that Chase Roullier recovered it. Washington again failed to score after going for it on fourth down.
Backed up deep after a holding penalty Rodgers hit Adams for a 26 yard, one handed catch completion over good coverage by Kendall Fuller.

Fourth Quarter
Rodgers was able to the move the ball down to the Washington 11 yard line but an “illegal use of hands” penalty moved the ball back to the 21 yard line. The Packers failed to get a first down, so Crosby was called on to convert a 39 yard field goal.
On their next drive, Washington was able to move the ball down the field 65 yards in 14 plays via a mixture of runs and intermediate throws. After Humphries could not catch a throw into the endzone. Heinicke then threw an interception in the endzone on another attempt to Humphries.
After a 17 yard pass to Mercedes Lewis, AJ Dillon fumbled the ball after being hit by Sweat. Washington was only to pick up a net of 11 yards after Heinicke was sacked twice. On fourth down, Ron Rivera elected to kick a field goal this time, presumably to test out Blewitt’s confidence. Blewitt nailed the 45-yard field goal attempt.
Washington held Green Bay to a three and out after a failed onside kick. Washington’s offense moved the ball 65 yards but time ran out before they could score again.

Heroes
The defensive line who had their best showing of the year. Granted, that’s a low bar, but one that they exceeded for a change.
Zeroes
Scott Turner and the red zone offense, which produced three turnovers and one interception.
Taylor Heinicke, who had too many red zone mistakes.
