Commanders Draft: Day 2

With the 47th Pick, the Commanders select Phidarian Mathis Defensive Tackle from Alabama. This pick is a bit unexpected but when thinking about it Washington lost two tackles this off season and there are rumors that they are looking to move on from Deron Payne rather than pay him after his rookie deal is up.

Mathis is a 4 year player at Alabama, has appeared in 46 games has 129 tackles, 16 for a loss, 10.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
