Game Impactors
The penalties coming closest to game impactors were the illegal contact call on Desmond King on the Commanders lone offensive touchdown drive. That call gave Washington a first down on the Houston 26 yard line and the scored 2 plays later on the Curtis Samuel running play.
The penalty that got everyone excited was the unnecessary roughness call on John Ridgeway for his WWE-style tackle of Dameon Pierce. Fortunately, Pierce was unhurt and while the Texans got a first down at the Washington 5 yard line, the Washington defense kept them out of the end zone behind a Montez Sweat third down sack of Davis Mills.
