Draft Data
There are now 250 mock drafts published since December, up 16 from last week, with 52% of the picks being made or updated in the last two weeks. In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Commanders will have the 29th overall pick in the first round. The position picked for Washington, by descending frequency, is:
Position | Picked Count | Picked % | Last Week % | % Change |
Edge | 83 | 33.20% | 30.77% | 2.43% |
WR | 45 | 18.00% | 20.51% | -2.51% |
OT | 28 | 11.20% | 12.39% | -1.19% |
CB | 22 | 8.80% | 8.55% | 0.25% |
DL | 18 | 7.20% | 6.41% | 0.79% |
S | 12 | 4.80% | 5.56% | -0.76% |
RB | 11 | 4.40% | 4.70% | -0.30% |
N/A | 10 | 4.00% | 2.99% | 1.01% |

LB | 8 | 3.20% | 3.42% | -0.22% |
TE | 4 | 1.60% | 2.56% | -0.96% |
QB | 0 | 0.00% | 0.00% | 0.00% |
Grand Total | 250 | 100% |
The N/A comes from two scenarios, the first being a now irrelevant Myles Garrett trade, and the second being a trade out of the first round by Washington.
The shift away from wide receiver continues, with another 2.5% decrease this week, while edge rose 2.4%. As noted in the prior column, the focus on edge players will likely increase as we move closer to the draft. Offensive tackle dropped 1.2% while interior offensive line rose nearly 1.5%.

Position Focus
The Commanders return long snapper Tyler Ott and re-signed Tress Way and Zane Gonzalez to handle the kicking duties. Way is still a Pro Bowl level punter, but the same cannot be said for Gonzalez. It’s not a given that the Commanders would use a late round pick on a kicker. The more likely route for them is to sign an undrafted free agent. If Adam Peters decides to draft a kicker, a few names to watch for during the draft are:
Ryan Fitzgerald, Florida State
FSU kicker Ryan Fitzgerald good from 52 and 59 already today.
Some NFL team is gonna use a draft pick on him. He’s just too good. pic.twitter.com/zZT68XC8IE

Andres Borregales, Miami
One of the premier kickers in the class, Miami’s Andres Borregales met with a long list of teams during Shrine week, including the following:
• Broncos
• Steelers
• Commanders
• Colts
• 49ers
