Tiny Dancers and Big O-Line
A two man show. Josh Norman is going on Dancing With The Stars, we don’t care. Dez Bryant is a free agent, we don’t want him. We do want to talk about some of the o-line prospects in the draft.

There are a ton of guys I’d be thrilled with at 13. As long as the skins don’t take Josh Allen or a wide receiver, I’ll be good.
Yeah, they’ll have to try hard if they’re going to screw it up.
Trading back requires a willing partner. Pretty much the only guys teams will be looking to trade up for are QB or edge rushers, so if one of them skips to 13 then we’re in business.
Baltimore jumping Arizona
Edmunds is not a “blue chipper”????????? ON WHAT FUCKING PLANET IS THAT?
I’ll admit he may be. He’s at least right there. He just doesn’t jump off the tape when I watch him.
Bullshit
Bollocks
Never mind the bollocks
Here’s the Sex Pistols
I respect your opinion.
Thanks, you’ll see.
My feeling is, stay at 13 if you can take a blue chip prospect. The ones who may fall to 13 are, IMO: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Derwin James, Roquan Smith, Denzel Ward, and Vita Vea.
If all those quys are gone, try to move down and get a red chipper: Payne, Hurst, Guice, Wynn, Hernandez, Edmunds, Landry, etc.
I wouldn’t be afraid of taking Guice at 13. I think Edmunds might be gone prior to 13.
I wouldn’t totally hate Guice at 13, but I think it’s too high for him. Edmunds I could live with, but also a little high for me, even though he could go sooner.
I’ve repeatedly said on the air that I don’t particularly care about somebody’s draft rankings, within reason. I’m totally fine with drafting a player at 13 who people have ranked a bit lower as long as the player works out. The idea of “draft value” as the driving factor of a draft selection is a bit overwrought, to me, and a creation of yutzes like Mel Kiper and Todd McShay – again, within reason.
TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD!
– Mel
Landry, Edmunds, Hernandez, Guice… are not (potential) blue chippers because…???
Everyone is a *potential* blue chipper, but I think there’s a clear line between the others and this group, for different reasons.
Landry – was not the same player last year that he was in 2016. If you took him at 13 you’d do so on the hope that he returns to his pre-injury form;
Edmunds – is a fantastic athlete, and very young, but his tape doesn’t match his measurables. You’d be projecting that his game grows into his body.
Hernandez – looks like a beast but played against lesser competition. You’d be projecting that he’ll be just as dominant against top competition. Also, positional value: not many OGs are taken inside the top 15.
Guice – was better in 2016 when he was splitting time with Fournette. I like him but there are backs I like nearly as much who’ll be around later.
You are a complete idiot. I can’t wait for you to bitch at every pick the Skins make.
Being reported that the third client of Trump’s fixer, Michael Cohen, was Sean Hannity. Explains that “fair and balanced” reporting.
Hannity never claimed to be fair and balanced. He clearly identifies himself as a conservative analyst, not a Fox News reporter.
Has he described himself as a shill for Trump?
Stormy double team scandal coming up next at 5:00!
I’ll qualify this by saying that I’ve never seen a single minute of his TV show, ever, at least that I can remember, although I do occasionally listen to his radio show when I’m in the car on weekday afternoons, which is unfortunately rare these days. Hannity has clearly identified himself as a Trump supporter.
There’s certainly no question that he’s a rabid Trump supporter.
Much like Keith Matthews , Madcow ,Lawrence ODonnell, Joy Reid , half the cast of CNN were rapid Obama supporters . Strangely you never mention that . That shit goes both ways .
Just found the clip of Hannity’s response today. He says that Cohen never represented him, never had him on retainer, and never paid legal fees to Cohen but that he’s known Cohen a long time and occasionally would call him with legal questions, to which Cohen would give him a few minutes for free.
So he claims. He says he considered their conversations on legal matters confidential, which sounds a little like attorney-client privilege. I wonder why Cohen told the court that Hannity was a client, under compulsion?
Attorney-client privilege would very clearly apply to conversations like that. That isn’t disputable, and Hannity himself said so in the 2 minute clip I just listened to. What Hannity is saying is that there wasn’t a formal representation agreement and Cohen didn’t represent him on a legal matter. All of that is easily provable if it ever came to that, which it won’t.
I think you’re right, but it’s possible that Hannity’s legal questions could have been related to show topics rather than personal matters, in which case no privilege would attach.
Hannity clearly stated in the clip that he was asking about personal matters not involving a third party. Sorry to blow up your narrative.
I don’t have a narrative. My suggestion that he might have been talking about show topics is actually the least damning scenario I can think of.
That’s silly. Hannity could’ve been asking him about lots of things that have nothing to do with politics or his shows. Frankly, it’s totally irrelevant. For that matter, the entire idea of the Mueller investigation team raiding Cohen’s offices apparently to get information on the Stormy Daniels scandal is pretty offensive considering that Mueller’s charter as special counsel was to investigate Russia’s meddling in the U.S. election. Last I checked, the porn star most likely isn’t a Russian spy. What the heck is Mueller doing and why is he straying from the task at hand? Answer: because he has an anti-Trump agenda.
It wasn’t Mueller’s team who did the search. That was initiated by prosecutors in the SDNY.
That said, there’s every reason to investigate Cohen who has been Trump’s fixer for decades. He was specifically mentioned in the Steele dossier and there’s apparently some question as to whether he met with Russians in Prague, possibly relating to collusion.
The Steele dossier has been proven to be unsupported garbage dredged up by the Obama Administration. It’s disgraceful.
Several things in the Steele dossier have been independently verified, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the Obama administration. Steele himself is a highly respected intelligence expert who spent years with MI6 as their top Russian analyst.
It’s Mueller-connected: http://www.businessinsider.com/cohen-raid-mueller-limits-on-investigation-2018-4
It’s probably Mueller connected — we don’t really know. But in any case, it was approved by Rosenstein, who was appointed by Trump. And it’s now before a judge who was appointed by Reagan, so….

5 regulations were repealed during the making of this meme.
I have to give you credit for being tireless in your hatred of our current president. I will say I respect those that respect the Office of the President more than those that constantly criticize.
Criticism is essentially one of the checks and balances. And, I would always invite criticism of any leader. There are respectful ways to criticize, however. I would also add any attempts to stifle crticism can lead to censorship.
Criticism is one thing… incessant whining while you praised your own candidate for doing much the same thing is, well, I’ll let you decide
@NPI, Are you calling Obama the Kirk Cousins of Presidents?
More like Bob
If you like your Doctson, you can keep your Doctson…period.
Obama was a pussy.
He really sucked at foreign policy.
Depends on who you ask, Alfred, or Alfredo.
I gave him credit for his tireless criticism.
It gets tiring, but I don’t want to stifle it. If you notice I only interject in the political arguments up here when there are actual arguments to be made, not simple name calling.
Agree on all counts below.
This type of never-ending bleating gets so old.
A legal question, can a business refuse to allow people that haven’t paid anything to use their restrooms?
Yes, provided that there isn’t some local ordinance to the contrary (which I’ve never heard of).
What was it Bill Clinton bombed ? Some sort of factory ? I forget exactly . The blunders tend to run together
Is there audio of the manager asking the two gentlemen to leave?
Not that I’ve seen. A business can certain ask people to leave if they aren’t buying anything, but the fact of the matter is that the Starbucks’ standard business practice is to allow people to come in and sit without buying.
most places like that have a sign that says they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason
but Starbucks goes out of its way to position itself as a community hub where people can drop by and see a friend or what not
Yeah, Barnes and Noble is the same way.
Just wondering. Some white folks are scared of black folks and end up fumbling around with their words, creating an issue where there may have been none, or creating a issue beyond what the original issue may have been. It’s been my experience that looking someone in the eye and speaking to them straight forwardly cuts out a lot of bullshit, and or misunderstanding. “Talking themselves into a hole”
Or, the manager is racist, idk
my stereotypical generalization is that black people seem to think they know their “rights” much better than they actually do
watching LivePD it’s like
you didn’t have the right to pull me over – uh you were speeding and ran a light
you can’t search my car I know my rights – uh the drugs are in plain view on the seat
I know my rights I don’t have to get out of my car – uh, you reek of beer and have 4 open containers next to you
then they end up in a pissing match with the cops and you know who always wins that
the cops
Yeah, that’s just stupidity.
Guys may walk around everyday with a chip on their shoulder, expecting someone to be prejudice, idk. I have seen situations where the white person creates an issue by the way they act.
If a manager that was black were to approach me with body language and expressions representative of distaste and say “you people need to leave”, I would feel that it was because of my race, even if it was just that they were having a ‘fuck everybody’ day. I would be wrong, but it’s more than likely a person’s first read.
Fucking with the police is a entirely different issue, as you and Mr. Steve both mentioned. If you make them do their job, well…… don’t be surprised when they do, right, wrong, or indifferent.
Personally, if I felt the manager was acting out, and I frequented this coffee shop…war on, I’d be the biggest pain in their ass, moving forward. There’s more than one way to fight.
Can they deny use of the restrooms for those that aren’t paying?
Yes, he was simply announcing that they had, “No more Bold African blend…Out.”
Total misunderstanding.
the only thing worse than the Starbucks faux pas is the poor kid in Minnesota who went to ask the white family for directions to school and the lady freaked out so bad the husband tried to shoot the kid with a shotgun
Ban directions!
MN
1990 Census – 95% white

I asked about that and got back
You know, I think, ask Becky, they had a black fellow join their Lutheran church last year
In retaliation, a tornado destroyed the Starbucks in western Lynchburg, Virginia, yesterday evening.

In alignment with “bringing back the hogs”, and all that.
Rowdy for the win!!
Philly Starbucks manager who called 911 on black men ‘no longer at that store’
They were more mocha than black.
#1 – the Starbucks guy messed up by racially profiling those 2 guys and deserves corporate discipline of some sort.
#2 – the guys who were arrested appeared to have made things more difficult on themselves by not just shutting up and leaving when the cops showed up.
#3 – this does not mean that the entire Starbucks company needs to be boycotted.
Boycotting Starbucks would ruin some folks’ lives…why, where else would DC get free internet to hang out with you fine people?
Cool… means no lines
Do:
get the store manager’s name and fight with Corporate
comeback back and protest the store
use social media to raise awareness
Don’t:
Fuck around with the Police and end up with some felony charges
I don’t know what they said earlier, but they seemed to be perfectly cooperative when the cops were hooking them up. Also … sometimes you have to make a little fuss for the right reason. I mean, if Rosa Parks had just quietly moved to a seat at the back of the bus….
i’ve got no opinions on any new stadium, but can they renegotiate the deal with Richmond? not being able to travel for scrimmages sucks.
The Redskins most likely have no desire to renegotiate that deal right now – they’re making lots of money from it. What happens when it expires is another matter.
yeah, figures. not being able to offer home-and-home to teams willing to travel some for camp puts the team at a disadvantage.
True, but again, that isn’t really a factor.
So Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen was pressured to name his actual clients and the one who had wanted to remain anonymous was named….Sean hannity.
If Cohen is in fact a ‘fixer’. I wonder of Mrs. Hannity knows her hubby works with Cohen.
I find Sean Hannity to be a total scumbag. So, if he gets fucked over this revelation, I couldn’t care less.
As far as I’m concerned, Winston Wolf is the Reeeaaall fixer.

New stadium will be right at the National Harbor with licensing rights from MGM or something similar. Transit to/from DC and VA via ferry. Makes too much sense. Book that ish…

Don’t forget that the DC Council doesn’t actually want the Redskins as long as they maintain the name Redskins.
National Harbor is in MD
Yeah, I know. A poorly placed and written comment. I actually wrote about that National Harbor site here last year. I think that area would be the best option if the stadium ends up in MD. All I was trying to say, badly, is that DC isn’t going to support a stadium in the city.
Am I the only one that thought of the Elton John song when reading the title of this blog story?
Tony Danza?

i’m doin’ fine up here on Cloud Nine
i’m very disappointed in the low likelihood that the new redskins stadium is properly situated on the RFK site.
probably not going to happen. seems totally obviously the far and away best place, but… i do not run the zoo.
and, i may be a part of that problem. i would only go to the new RFK 1 time, maybe 2 times. my couch is the best place from which to watch a game.

Seriously though, this is one of those things that gives me serious doubts that Bruce Allen can get a stadium deal in VA with ease.
Smokey Glen Farm
that’s all relative
compared at least with DC
How do you mean?
getting a deal with DC will be much harder, it’s harder to make the math work if in fact the most Skins fans live in VA; and the issue isn’t with the state, it is with the city; the tax advantages to having the stadium, practice, and HQ are synergistic, it makes sure more of the players live in VA along with the tax multipliers
but there just are not a lot of great sites for large projects in the DMV in general
A stadium in DC is an extreme longshot.
Would love to go back to Carlisle. Neat town, nice boost to the local economy.

You know who I don’t miss, that idiot who kept defending penn state.

^I Am Fondling Myself
That’s the jerk.
You could tell ex-Redskins Evan Royster was a former Penn Stater….
He wasn’t ever effective until working up a lather.
I don’t think that this contract with the local Richmond government will have any real effect on the stadium deal at all. No wrongdoing is alleged. It’s just that Richmond signed a bad deal. Has little if anything to do with state politics, IMO.
City politics and state politics end up intertwining quite in my experience, I’d guess a state capitol like Richmond’s city politics, it would only amplify. It sure won’t help their case if they need the state government to be a player in any deals, though I guess they could just not involve the state at all in any stadium deal.
I think it’ll have zero effect whatsoever. The new stadium is about money and only money.
Also, as much as some might not like it, a new stadium will, period, involve significant public funds.
And a moat! Don’t forget the moat!
Got to keep the poor out somehow, nothing does that like a moat.

The plan can’t be that the run defense was fine with JAllen in there and now that he’s healthy we’re fine

Speaking of NFL helmets
https://www.nflpa.com/news/2018-helmet-lab-testing-performance-results
The league is banning 10 different models of helmets that players wore last year, saying they were unsafe.
Here’s the list of helmets they tested:
https://www.playsmartplaysafe.com/resource/helmet-laboratory-testing-performance-results/
So, this is apparently the safest helmet out there:
https://shop.vicis.com/products/zero1
Begs the question, if this is the “best” from a safety standpoint, why not just tell players to all wear this?
easy: it makes the league liable if there is a flaw with it
Hadn’t thought about that angle

So German Chocolate Cake is not really German
it was named by a baking contest winner who used Sam German’s Sweet Milk Chocolate from the Baker’s Chocolate Company in her recipe by in the mid-50’s
so technically the name should be German’s Chocolate Cake
Not a surprise really, German food’s too bland to make a cake with. The wife was watching some food show and they were talking about fine dining in Germany, and the Germans were like, “in Germany our food is all very bland, not very good, so when you go for an expensive meal you aren’t going for something that tastes good but for the experience, the waiters, the nice restaurant”
But they said this with pride, like they are proud to be a land of terrible food.
They do great things with steak and onions.
they do good things with potatoes which they did not have until the 1600’s when they were brought back from the Americas
This is kinda like your post below…but not nearly as funny.
Fwiw, Krupp > potatoes
Could have told you that years ago. I began wondering about it when it occurred to me the funny lack of coconut in Germany.
Also, originally, it was German’s chocolate cake.
First baked in…Texas, USA.
Shameless plug
Just putting it on the map is all.
I’m still a transient. Nowhere near converted yet.
The day I’m sitting out front on a lawn chair, pile of beer cans at my feet looking at the hole I just shot in my foot…then I’ll be Texan.
Lol
that just makes you a Redneck
wondering how you just shot that Mexican, then you’re a Texan
just remember to shout “Remember the Alamo!”
I like a good German chocolate cake, the more coconut the better.
It took me decades to be okay about coconut. My first bite into a Mounds, was not at all what I expected. Nothing short of traumatic really.
Picking up the 5th year option usually means the team plans on extending the player eventually. I don’t see us losing Scherff to FA. He’ll be a Skin for a long time.

Brandon Scherff’s $12.5 million option in 2019 would make him the league’s second-highest paid guard. Could also be a prelude to a long-term deal.
We could burn the rest of the day debating which came first, at 6, and which followed, at 8.
pretty sure 5th year option comes between year 4 and year 6, plus or minus 2

If we draft anyone and in 5 years Bruce doesn’t piss them off and make them want to run like a bat out of hell, it’s a win.
Not if you get a good five seasons and let him go with his replacement on the roster or waiting to be drafted.
Yeah I guess I can see that. That’s what the Steelers and Pats do.
If we draft Gucci and in 5 years he’s led the league in rushing for three of them, it’s not a wasted pick…not that that will happen…
I think we will draft him. I got a feeling.
Maybe
In response to the Rick Snider tweet…if an RB only lasts 5 years, one could argue that you should never draft one in the early rounds as you won’t get a good return of value for a 1st or 2nd round pick. Draft players who play longer periods of time in the early rounds. Doesn’t that make more sense?
I read it as there was 5 years left on those legs.
I didn’t read it, so there…
Scroll down, all the cool kids are reading it.
I have no interest in Mr. Anderson becoming a Redskin.
Me either.
– Agent Smith
I think Snyder means he has 5 years on those legs already and probably not much more.
No he means a RB in year 5 can be done in the NFL.
“Anderson has five years on those legs, which is retirement time for most backs.”
That context is clear, 5 years and ready to retire.
Many have argued that, exactly.
It’s a bad argument.
I’ve already shown the number of top 20 RBs of 2017 who were playing beyond 5 years. I’m not doing it again.
But only because I have no idea where I put that list. Or if I even still have it.
It doesn’t exist, fake news. Nevermind that I remember it.

Per sources some teams have medically flunked Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch and have removed him from their draft board.
Wow, what’s he got going on? Guy’s a 2nd or 3rd round prospect.
Higher than that
http://www.walterfootball.com/NFLHotPress
Interesting from that story:
Helping Vander Esch to go in the first
round are teams not having 32 first-round grades. It varies by team, but
in the final dozen picks of the first round, there will be players with
second-round grades getting selected because there are not enough true
first-rounders.
So based on what they are saying, there’s about 20 ish 1st round talents in this draft.
Flunked by some teams while still meeting with others.
Makes no damn sense.

Jonathan Allen’s last two years at Alabama: 30.5 TFL’s and 22.5 sacks.
Da’Ron Payne’s last two years at Alabama: 4.5 TFL’s and 2.5 sacks.
#Redskins #NFLDraft
Grant not feeling Payne.
Now, those numbers aren’t good, but wasn’t Payne a DT in college and Allen a DE?
I think Allen was just an interior lineman, not an end.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/jonathan-allen?id=2557844
Notes from his profile: Started at OLB in college and a bit small to play inside.
oh
“Plays outside and inside”
Sure, most guys do move around. I’m more asking what their “natural” positions would have been, and I think Allen’s more a DE than anything else.
He played inside for the Skins.
Dalvin Tomlinson is probably a better comp. He also put up better numbers than Payne, and was drafted in the second half of round 2 last year. Played well for the Ginas.
I trust Grant’s opinion. He’s has well formulated opinions. Not just reactionary.

Lost in Space is okay. I had some problems with the annoying as fuck antagonist’s writing. But overall, the show is okay.
I think it’s solid, the cast is good, Whoever’s at netflix doing their casting of child actors, they are doing a bang up job.
I agree the antagonist is the weakest part. Hope that by season 2 they are ready to re-create the episode “The Promised Planet”, feel like 50% of the original lost in space shows were basically the classic American family roaming space and being afraid of alien space hippies, but no episode was quite like that one.
This was less the case on Star Trek, where any time they found alien space hippies Kirk usually spent all his time trying to sex em up.
Hippies are weird chicks…but they sure are fun to get in bed with

Since entering the NFL in 2013, C.J. Anderson’s 4.40 ypc ranks fifth and his 1.97 yac sixth among 28 backs with 600-plus carries.
Bob Ross would draft Derwin James.
He paints a target on the WR and makes the hit.

Ban parked cars.
Who does Guice compare to running wise in the NFL?
some say Lynch
yes, but the Gore comparison I like a little better
“He’s an explosive runner with excellent balance and a tenacious style,” Jeremiah wrote. “He isn’t quite as powerful as his former teammate Fournette, but he has a little more wiggle and elusiveness. I see a little bit of LaDainian Tomlinson in his running style, but he really reminds me of a young Frank Gore. He’s a tough guy to get on the ground.”
-DJ
Cool. I don’t recall reading any comparisons. Thanks.
He looks like a guy who runs a bit bigger than he is to me. He’s only 212 according to ESPN, but looks larger.
Love this site. Who would have thought when they awoke this morning, we’d be discussing Bob Ross? lol

Prediction: Josh Norman and his partner will be way ahead in DWTS and the odd-on favorites to win it all until he is sent home by voters after a performance in which he pretends to shoot an imaginary arrow from an imaginary bow at his partner as a part of their routine and is all of the sudden considered dangerous to women and the public in general.
Book that shit.
13. Washington: Vita Vea, DT, Washington
Some picks every year just feel locked in. Last year, Gareon Conley was locked in pretty early to the Raiders and it happened. This year that pairing seems to be Vea to Washington. Don’t let Vea’s 347-pound frame fool you. He has quick feet and good movement skill for a big defensive lineman.
-Dan Kadar
I just have a hard time seeing the Redskins draft an interior defensive lineman for a second year in a row considering the things Jay Gruden has said about the draft.
Weaknesses
Loses his feet and hits the turf too often
Base and footwork can be compromised when he gets too far out over his toes
Has a tendency to allow pad level to rise too much during rep
Lacks feel for double teams and blocking schemes
Second block catches him off-guard and he often does not have hands in position to work against doubles
Initial get-off is below average
Heavy-stepper as a pass rusher
Doesn’t have flexibility or foot quickness to win around the edge as pass rusher
Too quick to default to brute force over technique
Teams may view him as run down player only
He sounds like he’s a pretty good player, but I also don’t think the Skins think DT is their #1 priority; if there’s an obivous BPA and no really good tradeback offer, that’s how they go DT early. Otherwise, I would guess first two picks lean OG and RB. Though, maybe they’re thinking Nseke, worst case, plays LG?
Just Googled, “2018 mock draft” and looked at 10 of the major market results. All 10 had Vea going ahead of Payne. Not sure what Alex was looking at.
Well some I use are from early in the year, some are later I’m sure that’s a part of the impact. It looks like 1 of the early ones had Vea in the 2nd round.
Payne is a more well rounded player
Vita is a two down type of guy
Not even close to being true.
Better pass rusher
Doesn’t take plays off
Amen!
Dude, Payne had 3 sacks in his entire college career. One sack per year. He had 5 tackles for loss in his entire college career. The dude is MEH incarnate.
Agree to disagree
When in Rome
You can’t disagree with the stats. They are what they are. I think he’ll be a better pro than he was in college, but I wouldn’t take him in the first half of round 1.
Like my stats that put me as the best LB on the team??????
Those stats?

Mock drafts=power rankings
True, bu Alex said he ranked Payne ahead of Vea based on eight mock drafts he looked at. I guess they must have all come from Tuscaloosa.
We need Hanikins to improve our power rankins.

Don’t break the bankins so he can give o-linemen spankins.

On Ty Nsekhe, Steve and I talked about it on the podcast, unless his signing was for something unexpected and more than just his 1 year offer than the odds are that he’s not a Redskin next season. Finding a young swing tackle to back him up this season wouldn’t be a bad move.
I’m trying to learn what his contract was, so if I hear, I’ll let everyone know.
I’m guessing it was just his 1 year tender. But if they do extend him for more than that it’s not a bad move by the skins at all.
He signed his 2nd round tender… somewhere in the vicinity of $2.5 mil for one year
It’s 2.9 million
He was offered his tender….not sure if he signed it or if they negotiated a multi-year deal.

If your career depended on your pick, and you picked 1st overall, with everyone available, who would it be? – 65
Rosen.
Wouldn’t be popular at first but it’s the right pick.
D_C beat you to the unemployment line!
Maybe but I would be vindicated on 5 years by a draft retrospective on NFL Network
Imagine if there was back pay……..
My flawed question is who is available so I’m going OG or DT. OG slightly ahead
Barkley.
Sam Darnold
Fired
Safest pick at No. 1 for sure.
Nelson
You used the No. 1 overall pick on a guard? You’re fired.
Because as we all know OL has zero impact on the game
Kickers have an impact on the game, but you don’t take them No. 1.
Yeah because that’s an apples to apples comparison
Barkley.
There’s a good one.
It’s about time for Hankins to sign his damn deal.
Amen!
So, I did my own BPA@PON rankings, here’s my top 13 guys, (for obvious reasons I went to 13)
RB SAQUON BARKLEY
G QUENTIN NELSON
EDGE BRADLEY CHUBB
S MINKAH FITZPATRICK
LB ROQUAN SMITH
RB DERRIUS GUICE
DL DA’RON PAYNE
DL VITA VEA
LB TREMAINE EDMUNDS
S DERWIN JAMES
WR CALVIN RIDLEY
CB DENZEL WARD
EDGE MARCUS DAVENPORT
Bascially I took a bunch of mock draft’s, average out where players all ranked, then gave each position a value, 1st round for RB/DT/G, and re-calibrated
If that’s what you did then Vea would be ahead of Payne.
Well they’re both visiting Ashburn this week.
On average that’s where they ended up in the 8-9 different mocks & rankings I used.
They ranked 17.44, and 17.66 on the averages.
voluntary offseason workouts start today
woohoo!
Payne or Hernandez
And that’s it
No Vea? No Wynn?
I’d rather my two
I like Hernandez a lot. He or Wynn would be a good option in a trade back scenario.
I doubt they go defense until their 3rd pick
the one player I would stake my job on as a GM would be
Barkley, Chubb or Nelson — I think those are 3 can’t miss guys (barring injury of course)
I think that either Hernandez or Wynn will be in the board when we pick in round 2
You could be right, but every mock would disagree with you.
Mocks know nothing
Yeah I think they are gone end of R1
Late 1st early 2nd but guards tend to slide.
you’d just need 3 OG taken in the first 43 spots
i try to give the Wizards a chance to win me back over to caring about the NBA but damn, they always disappoint
You bought a ticket for the Titanic…
It’s hard to get behind a team whose absolute dream season, perfect scenario ceiling is the Eastern conference finals.
Josh Rosen and Lamar Jackson will both become very good to elite NFL QBs.
Darnold will be solid but not great
Mayfield will be a journeyman
Mason Rudolph will be a career backup
Josh Allen will be a complete bust.
Book it.
If your career depended on it, who would you take with our first round pick?
If we had to take a QB it would be Rosen
Not what I asked…
Are you asking QB, or asking any position?
Team owner?
whole draft is open. we all say this guy or that, but if YOUR career depended on it, who are you taking with #13. No draft downs etc…
OG
prob safest pick
i’m thinking same thing…og
Well since I was taking about QB, I assumed.
Friending on who is available, if go with Vea, Payne, Minkah or Derwin.
pick 1 guy
the best player available at that point in the draft
….geez you guys are difficult at times…pick a player…
who’s available then?
lol, i thought about that after i sent this text…pick a position then plz
They handing out free crack cocaine in northern Virginia today?
I largely agree with this assessment.
Bigly
I don’t know about Mayfield, think a good situation, he can be fine for 10 years.
I think he will have success success but will be a stop gap guy for a long time
I do not think Rosen or Jackson will be elite.
*smash cut*
Browns DO stay medium and take Lamar Jackson early 2nd round.
Ravens backup by year 4
I think Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, and yeah, Allen, will all be good to very good. Lamar Jackson will either be a superstar or a bust. Don’t see much in between for him. Rudolph could be a backup to average. Lauletta could be a decent system QB.
Draft summary before our pick, this is where you take Payne, Wynn, or Hernandez, and fucking live with it.
Round 1 Pick 1 (1) Browns: Barkley, Saquon (RB) Penn State
Round 1 Pick 2 (2) (NYG) Raiders: Chubb, Bradley (DE) North Carolina State
Round 1 Pick 3 (3) Jets: Rosen, Josh (QB) UCLA
Round 1 Pick 4 (4) Browns: James, Derwin (SS/FS) Florida State
Round 1 Pick 5 (5) Broncos: Nelson, Quenton (OG) Notre Dame
Round 1 Pick 6 (6) Colts: Fitzpatrick, Minkah (CB/FS) Alabama
Round 1 Pick 7 (7) Buccaneers: Alexander, Jaire (CB) Louisville
Round 1 Pick 8 (8) Bears: Davenport, Marcus (DE/OLB) Texas-San Antonio
Round 1 Pick 9 (9) 49ers: Smith, Roquan (ILB/OLB) Georgia
Round 1 Pick 10 (10) (OAK) Giants: Darnold, Sam (QB) Southern California
Round 1 Pick 11 (11) Dolphins: Edmunds, Tremaine (OLB/ILB) Virginia Tech
Round 1 Pick 12 (12) Bills: Allen, Josh (QB) Wyoming
people call MY drafts unrealistic
how about the Browns not taking a QB
how about the Dolphins not taking a QB
maybe even the Broncos, even if they hadn’t planned to
that’s a Mara marionette draft

“I don’t see Luck in this draft, and I don’t see Carson Wentz, who I liked a lot coming into the draft,” Saints coach Sean Payton said to @SI_PeterKing. “I’d feel a little bit uneasy if I were at the top of this draft and I decided I had to have a QB.”

That’s true, but he’s not without fault. He has that RGIII quality of holding the ball too long, trying to make every throw a home run. Took a lot of unnecessary shots.
Both Wentz and Luck are that kind of QB, a big gunslinger. That’s also what I think Payton looks for to keep running that pro-style vertical pass happy offense of his.
Yes I agree, none of them seem like can’t miss guys imo.
It’s so hard to predict what QBs will do in the NFL, but I think there are four legit. first rounders in this year’s group. Maybe five.
Josh Allen is going to get a GM fired.
Rosen will be the best in the class.
Let it be booked.
Josh Allen will emerge as the best QB in the class.
False.
I’ll take Sean Paytons opinion over all-y’alls anyday.
Also over the 4 GMs who will take QBs in the first 11 picks.
desperation time makes people do stupid things…they all HOPE they find the needle in the haystack.
You can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket.
Like I said, I’m with Sean P. and agree with what he said about not being at the top of the draft, forced to having to consider one of these mostly meh qb’s.
Allen, Jonathan
Barnes Tavares
Francis, AJ
Hood, Ziggy
Hughes, Montori (350lbs)
Ioannidis, Matt
Lanier II, Anthony
McClain, Terrell
McGee, Stacy
Pipkin, Ondre
Taylor, Phil
You need to draft a DT that will start.
Stop redacting my shit, dammit. This looks like a Russia Probe memo.
Indict me, if you can.
That’s it, I impeach you….
Bring it on
redacting another person’s, or even one’s own, shit sounds like a sub-optimal experience.
If you put your cursor over the color block, you’ll realize that it’s not, and his/your entire case is frivolous.
zig,
i understand how those shaded out fields work. but thanks anyway…. jeez.
Sure, I guess I wasn’t considerate of y’all’s tendency to misuse words…..my bad.
What say you? Is it censorship? Are you prevented from seeing the data? I think not. Thrown out of court, good day.
3rd and 4th round
All they need is min heavily contributing RB, DT, DE, WR, DB (or starter), and a starting LG; and another LB
They need another day two pick. Unrealistic as it is (with the 2 2nd round picks), I expressed this here:
Round 1 Pick 24 (CAR): Hernandez, Will, OG, Texas-El Paso
Round 2 Pick 12: Evans, Rashaan, OLB/ILB, Alabama
Round 2 Pick 23 (CAR): Johnson, Kerryon, RB, Auburn
Round 3 Pick 21 (CAR): Nnadi, Derrick, DT, Florida State (DE)
Round 3 Pick 23 (LAR): Yiadom, Isaac, CB, Boston College
Round 4 Pick 9: Cain, Deon, WR, Clemson
Round 4 Pick 11 (LAR): Fatukasi, Folorunso, DT, Connecticut
Round 5 Pick 5: Fumagalli, Troy, TE, Wisconsin
Round 5 Pick 26: Hill, Holton, CB, Texas
Round 6 Pick 14: Harrison, Desmond, OT, West Georgia
Round 7 Pick 13: Wims, Javon, WR, Georgia
Round 7 Pick 23: Kalu, Joshua, FS, Nebraska
All it’s meant to show is that you can still possibly do well by trading back that 13 pick, ignoring the number of picks. Teams like the Redskins don’t fake mock solve all their roster in one draft like this, but take out a few picks, and you’ve checked off the boxes. And still emphasized the def front 7 and dealt with the OL. The Redskins are not going to trade back early 3 times. The marketing dept (not to be too pessimistic) is never going to go for that. This team lacks someone to market (other than Norman), and that’s why you’re starting to hear more Guice momentum. If they go medium again, well, maybe the marketing dept is keeping with the longer view, which would be a great sign.
*smash cut… the DTs all the way to Fatukasi are all taken in the 2nd round and the Skins are left holding an empty bag* whooomp whoooomp. but that’s the kind of thing that rarely happens. that’s what the knee jerk emotions tell you though, that it IS going to happen and you’re going to lose the 2nd round of a cake walk and not get any.
Stacy McGee makes the team, McClain might not.
Might need to add a backup Tackle to the draft list too.

Redskins OL Ty Nsekhe signed his second-round tender. The versatile, reliable guard/tackle will earn $2.914m this season.
You’re contradictory this morning.
Current DLs on Roster:
Allen, Jonathan
Barnes Tavares
Francis, AJ
Hood, Ziggy
Hughes, Montori (350lbs)
Ioannidis, Matt
Lanier II, Anthony
McClain, Terrell
McGee, Stacy
Pipkin, Ondre
Taylor, Phil
Assuming we keep 6, then here’s what I would like to see:
Allen
Ioannidis
Payne/Vea/Other via draft
McGee
Lanier II
Taylor/Pipken/Francis/Hood/Other – Let the best man win.
* Cut McClain
Your score is: 21322 (GRADE: B+)
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 13: Payne, DaRon, DT, Alabama (A)
Round 2 Pick 27 (S.F.): Michel, Sony, RB, Georgia (A+)
Round 3 Pick 10 (S.F.): Smith, Braden, OG, Auburn (A-)
Round 5 Pick 5: Avery, Genard, ILB, Memphis (A+)
Round 5 Pick 26: Hill, Holton, CB, Texas (A+)
Round 6 Pick 14: Ateman, Marcell, WR, Oklahoma State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 13: Lawler, Justin, DE, Southern Methodist (A+)
Round 7 Pick 23: Bierria, Keishawn, OLB, Washington (A+)
Nice.
No Skylar Phillips
Failure
poona
OU/ Anderson (7 yds per carry avg) and UGA manhandled Payne in the playoffs…fwiw.
Great RB is worth it ….
I just don’t like either Georgia RB enough for a 2nd round pick
I think Michel goes late 1st.

i say best DL first, then best OL. sorry, scot…. i know it’s supposed to be BPAROP. (“…regardless of position”)

We do that, but it’s BPAROP (regardless of priors) – Jerruh
Guice in the first would be really really disappointing to me
We’re not doing any of that nonsense.
What if they land a starting DL in round 2? And an OG in 4, or trade back and get the 3rd rounder back? It’s gonna be a crazy first round I think.
As long as its not Malik McDowell…
Channeling your inner dc?
Lol. Cmon man. You only one to dish but cant take it…? Care less about D C
While Chick-fil-A’n the internet……I found an old picture of flounder. Her dad probably laughed, and then had a double.

I’d like a RB with the first 2 picks. DL and RB or RB DL.

Running back Derrius Guice is visiting Redskins Park Monday, a source said. Guice had posted on snapshot Sunday night that he was in Washington, D.C. so this isn’t a big surprise. Alabama defensive lineman Da’Ron Payne will visit the Redskins Monday, per source. Payne is in play for Washington in the first round of the upcoming draft. A key will be whether they feel he can be a three-down player. If so, he would have to be an… http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-40019459-4 …
Please tell me you two aren’t about to talk Dez for 24 minutes.
Wouldnt be surprised to see him in Seattle
Sam Darnold reminds me of Matt Stafford.
I have Mayfield as my top QB followed by Rosen then Darnold…I still see Browns w Mayfield at 1 ( hope I am wrong ). I still see Giants w Barkley at 2 ( if not then Chubb). Not sold on Rosen Darnold or Allen as BPAs vs competition in top 10 or so picks.
Rather see Mayfield go to Jets or Skins
Mayfield’s not on my radar
We’ve got Smith. I’m not watching any QBs in this draft.
Who would have thought we would have taken two QBs in 2012?
He aint dropping so dont worry. 🙂
Hernandez is a mobile dude.
But if Nelson is there at 13…there’s no not making that pick. Especially when you really really need a left guard.
Be interesting to see what Bills do…
Even tho I beat the drums for taking a defensive tackle in the first round, if Hernandez is there I’d be thrilled with that pic. Just hope and pray, that we sign Hankins, then it’s a no-brainer
I’d be good with a pick to either side of the line in the 1st. But since Dline is deep…get Nelson in the first and Harrison Phillips in the 2nd.
Man there is quality DTs in this draft outside 1st round if they pass and go all Impact
I take calls
not a good start for the wizards or capitals. especially the caps. talk about being this close:
“The Capitals have played eight first-round playoff games the past two seasons, and seven of those have gone to overtime, hockey’s ulcer-inducing version of a coin flip. “
Wall misses 2 layups and flops last minute or so…while Wright rebounds and shoots the clutch 3 to close out.
Same old scipts. Wiz have nobody to stepup and close out
Don’t bug about a running back not coming from and playing against big conference competition.
And I’ll tell you why…the productive RB from a smaller school are getting it done without the benefit of huge Olines.
Just curious…who ?
Listen to the show!
– Steve
I will later. No small school RBs I know of that fits what Skins need they already dont have.
Still seeing some w Josh Allen as the top pick… funny.
I see Derwin James and Derrius Guice keep rising in mocks last few days…which is appropriate. James looking less likely to be there at #13 and Guice not looking so much like a ‘reach’ if Skins go that route.
lol…blog guys are crazy
Hankins here yet?
Sure would be nice to get this solid FA signing before the draft.
Amen!
I mean lay the money down…you traded away the 3rd pick. True cost of doing business
Preach brother! Amen!
New Yorker article clams Chik-FIL-A for Christian values. Fucking unbelievable!
Slams?
The title of the article is, Chick-fil-A’s creepy infiltration of New York City. And here’s a nice passage in the article.
the brand’s arrival here feels like an infiltration, in no small part because of its pervasive Christian traditionalism. Its headquarters, in Atlanta, are adorned with Bible verses and a statue of Jesus washing a disciple’s feet. Its stores close on Sundays.
All I know is…I don’t buy chicken sandwiches.
Whatever their severely heavy religious practiced and biases are, they don’t sell anything that I’d pull in to buy.
And that’s what the writer at the New Yorker should do just don’t go there and eat anything since you’re so severely offended. I haven’t read anything in the New Yorker about any restaurants in filtrating the city and due to their Muslim faith or their Buddhist Faith etc etc etc no just the infiltration of a christian-based company. Can you imagine? Oh the horror! Smdh
Maybe he’s gay. Or close to someone who is gay.
But points for him for….

Tolerance! A value that used to be held by liberals.
You do realize that that is based on tolerating people who aren’t doing anything except living their lives and not doing any harm to anyone. Yea?
Chick-fil-A is not infiltrating anyone’s lives. It is a restaurant you can choose to go to or not. He didn’t mention the writer that is any Muslim restaurants that have infiltrated the city did he? And if your premise, that maybe he is gay or close to someone who is gay, is accurate, he should write a similar article don’t you think? That company’s headquarters can have whatever religious Doctrine they want. it’s just a Slam against Christianity and Christian values otherwise he would be more complete and address all religions but no it’s only the christian-based one. Don’t be obtuse.
What Muslim owned super restaurant franchise exists? I’m not being obtuse…no locally owned neighborhood Muslim restaurant has near the influence on the customer as does giant as fuck Chik-fil-a.
Who, yes…gives lots of money to anti-LGBT organizations. Which is more than a passive effort to prevent LGBT from just being themselves.
Find a Muslim mega-corporation doing the same and shoot the guy a link.
Apples to apples man. Figure it out. Also, whataboutism is just…well, it’s weak dude.
Don’t go to the restaurant if you don’t like their values.
Don’t read Dan Piepenbring if you don’t like his opinion pieces.
🙂
