Redskins Reportedly Re-sign Shawn Lauvoa

The Washington Redskins have re-signed guard Shawn Lauvoa, according to a tweet posted by Lauvoa’s agents this afternoon:

The Redskins have not made an official announcement of this signing. Lauvoa originally came to Washington in 2014 after spending the first four years of his career with the Cleveland Browns. He has played and started 41 of 64 games for the Redskins, suffering serious injuries in both 2015 and 2017 that saw him placed on injured reserve on both occasions.
The Redskins were expected to pursue a guard in either free agency or the draft, but since that did not materialize, the team has apparently elected to bring back Lauvoa to fill that need. Terms of his contract have not been revealed.

So, the wife got me a smoker for an anniversary gift, today I’m smoking some pork shoulder & some sausage.
Since we also make our own home made sausages from time to time. I’m really tempted to try and make a half-smoke from scratch. Anyone here ever made their own half-smokes? I know it’s 1/2 Pork 1/2 beef with stuff like paprika, garlic powder in the mix. But not sure how long I’ll need to smoke them for.
Also now that I’ve got the smoker & the grill, think it’s time I try and build a little stone patio area for them in the yard. Nothing too big, just a little 3×5 space so they aren’t sitting in the grass. For safety reasons obviously.

there are a whole lot of places that show every game. If you want to go to the National chains like Buffalo Wild Wings or smaller places that you will discover like bumsteads or handley’s.
Carolina Ale House is relatively new and very close to my home so I like it.
there are a few places over at Broadway at the Beach as well. You won’t have trouble watching the games it’s just a matter of getting there and getting the TV you like.

Yeah, I usually head down to Redskins Central (The Black Sheep Lodge) to catch day games. So I don’t think I’ll miss it. DirecTV goes out all the time when it rains, and I’m upgrading Internet Speed + a ton of TV channels for a pretty substantial savings each month.

It may be the beer talking, but… Aside from the quarterback position there seems to be a lot of competition. Sure, not at every position, but at most and the roster seems to be getting deeper and younger. If some of these picks pan out, and some of the other young talent develops this year, then we may be just a year or 2 from adding a free agent or two (or seasoned vet, or not) to complete the package.
I’m not a big Jay or Bruce fan, my biggest fear though is that they will start off poorly and everyone gets canned and then we start over again. It really does feel like there’s a little bit of momentum building from a talent/ scheme standpoint.
