ESPN’s Field Yates first reported via Twitter that the Redskins have made their first move of the free agent “tampering” season by re-signing linebacker Jonathan Bostic, who served as a 3 – 4 inside linebacker last season:
The Redskins are expected to retain LB Jon Bostic on a two-year deal with a base value of $5M and $1.75M guaranteed. He was a solid contributor for them last season.

If Yates’ contract figures are correct, this contract will provide a measure of stability at middle linebacker in the team’s new 4 – 3 defense at a bargain-basement price.
The Athletic’s Ben Standig and ESPN’s Ian Rapoport both confirmed the news, and claimed the contract has a total value of $6.6M:
Can confirm Jon Bostic is back with Washington. Two years, $6.6 million.

Bostic played in all 16 games last season and made with 105 tackles (tied with rookie Cole Holcomb for second-most behind safety Landon Collins), including 56 solo tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception.
