As originally reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo last night, the Redskins have signed guard Wes Schweitzer to a 3 year, $13.5M contract:
#Redskins are signing former #Falcons G Wes Schweitzer, source says. He gets $13.5 million over three years.

Schweitzer was a sixth round draft choice by the Atlanta Falcons out of San Jose St. by the Atlanta Falcons. Standing 6’5″ and weighing 314 pounds, he didn’t see game action in 2016, but took over the starting role at right guard in 2017, was moved to the starting left guard spot in 2018, but then moved to backup swing guard for most of the 2019 season, starting only 7 games that year. In total, Schweitzer has played in 46 games with 36 starts.
This signing comes on the heels of losing last year’s starting left guard Ereck Flowers to the Miami Dolphins. Absent other moves, Schweitzer will presumably compete with 2019 rookie Wes Martin for the starting left guard spot vacated by Flowers.
