Coaching Changes

2020 brings a new coaching staff to Dallas. Mike McCarthy, the former Packers head coach, takes over from Jason Garrett. The new offensive coordinator is Kellen Moore and the defensive coordinator is Mike Nolan. Former Redskins defensive line coach Jim Tomsula also joins the Cowboys. Mike Nolan is also a former Redskins DC who famously was sent a message of a gallon of vanilla ice cream melting on his desk by owner Dan Snyder who was displeased with the perceived “Vanilla” defenses Nolan was running.

Summary

Dallas’ defense took a hit, losing Bryon Jones, Robert Quinn, and Maliek Collins, but they signed Gerald McCoy,  Dontari Poe and drafted Trevon Diggs as replacements. Tagging Dak Prescott, resigning Amari Cooper and adding CeeDee Lamb to go with Michael Gallup and Ezekiel Elliott gives the Cowboys a potentially powerful offense. Their schedule has tough road games against the Rams, Seahawks and Ravens, while getting the Cardinals, Steelers and 49ers at home.
