The NFL today announced that Washington wide receiver Cody Latimer has been placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List.  Latimer was charged earlier this offseason with multiple felonies in Douglas County, Colorado, including assault with a deadly weapon.  Last week, a Colorado judge had authorized Latimer to participate in training camp in Ashburn; however, today’s move bars Latimer from practicing or attending games, but he may be reasonably present at the team facility for meetings, workouts, and rehabilitation.

Additionally, according to NFL reporter Albert Breer and others, defensive end Caleb Brantley has opted out of the season with a “Reserve/Higher Risk Opt-Out” designation.

In other news, yesterday afternoon, Washington announced that guard Jeremy Vujnovich had been released and wide receiver Emanuel Hall had been waived with a non-football injury designation.
