A 3 game winning streak and a victory over a good football team: Washington’s fortunes have certainly risen over the last few weeks. This week Washington is a 3.5 point underdog, and the over/under is 43.5 points against the San Francisco 49ers. Due to pandemic restrictions, the game will be played in Phoenix. I originally projected the 49ers winning this week, but that was before the 49ers were inundated with injuries during the season. At one point during the season, San Francisco had about $80M in cap dollars tied in players on the injured reserve list. We will get to see former Washington players Trent Williams, Jordan Reed and Tom Compton in this game.
Last week, the Giants upset the Seahawks with Colt McCoy at the helm, while the Eagles lost to the Packers and the Cowboys lost badly to the Ravens. As a result, the Giants are in first place, followed by Washington, the Eagles, and the Cowboys in last place. This week, the Giants play the Cardinals, the Eagles (with Jalen Hurts at QB) play the Saints, while the Cowboys play at the Bengals.
